A GOOD REMINDER...

I came across this little poster or "saying" if you will, about everything that we tell our children to do or not to do.  At the very end it says, "because it's what we want our kids to do."  When you think about the big picture, kids do learn by example and that we should take our own parenting advice and be more conscious or mindful of what we are putting out there for our kids to see.

I know I am ACTIVELY trying to keep a calm voice, not let the kids get the best of me and I think just as important as the others is think before you SPEAK.  I know that Bryce is at a very impressionable age being almost 7 in a couple of months and I am finding myself thinking in my head before I say something or addressing him going, how is this going to make him feel or react.  I know it must be hard for him to be the big brother at times, especially with a little sister that requires a lot of attention or extra time.

Madison is not quite there yet on following directions, as they like to say in evaluations, she's "emerging."  But I am trying to stay CALM with her when she is getting into something she's not supposed to or spilling etc...  I have to REMIND and HUMBLE myself that, at least she is doing this "stuff" and not in a hospital bed or has a diagnosis that hinders her from this type of activities.

What I hope you take away from this blog post is that we all need to be a little more mindful of how we are acting around our kids and what examples we are teaching them.  AND...
We should always remain teachable...
