7 LAYER BARS

Happy Monday and the start to a New Week!

Today I am sharing with you my Husband's recipe for his famous and delicious 7 layer bars! They are so delicious, decadent and undoubtedly addicting.

This recipe is easy, simple and everyone will love them!

Doesn't that look so good?

Start by preheat your oven to 350 degrees!

Here are the supplies you will need:

1 Bag Sweetened Coconut Flakes
Chopped Walnuts
Butterscotch Chips
Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips (NOT milk chocolate chips)
Graham Crackers
Sweetened Condensed Milk
A Stick of Butter

9x13 Baking Pan
Sauce Pan
Spoon
Ziploc Bag

First you want to slice your butter into even slices and throw all the butter into a heated sauce pan. You want the temperature to be at medium-low.

With a spoon, I like using wooden, stir the butter around until all the butter is melted. You want to stir the butter so the butter melts evenly and it doesn't brown.

Then pour your butter into your 9x13 cake pan! Phew that was easy right? That was the most difficult part in the whole recipe!

Now transfer your whole package of graham cracker into your Ziploc bag and start pounding away until they resemble crumbs. You can add more graham crackers if you like to have more crust on the bottom, probably like half of another package.

You can use a rolling pin or meat tenderizer to help you get this consistency!

Now this is when the layering starts to happen! You will be emptying all the bags, except for the coconut.

Sprinkle your graham cracker crumbs all over the pan covering the butter.

Then start layering the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

You want them to be all evenly distributed!

And for the butterscotch chips...

And for the walnuts...

This is where is gets fun! Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk all over the top of your ingredients, again you want everything evenly distributed.

Last but certainly not least, the shredded coconut! Sprinkle the coconut on top so everything is covered, you don't need the whole bag, just a couple of handfuls.

Now put the pan in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the coconut starts turning a golden brown.

You can rotate your pan half way through to make sure one side doesn't get more golden than the other.

Here is your finished product!

This would taste so good with a hot cup of coffee, tea, or a cold glass of milk!

Make this for you family or friends and they will love it, Happy Baking!
