OVEN ROASTED BRUSSEL SPROUTS

Brussel sprouts are so good!

Why did brussel sprouts catch such a bad rap?

I think majority of people haven't ever had brussel sprouts, but know most people don't like them.


Give them another chance, these little guys are so good!!! My family loves them too, win-win!

Here are some facts about brussel sprouts (part of the cabbage fam.). They are loaded with vitamin K and C, and are very high in Potassium. They are also known to contain sulforaphane, a chemical believed to have potent anticancer properties. 

Okay, who is ready for your nutrition quiz now? Just kidding; no really, who is ready?

What you will need:

16 oz. Brussel Sprouts (about 30 if buying lose)
1 to 2 Tbs. Olive Oil (I use extra-light)
1/2 Tsp. Pepper
1/4 Tsp. Salt
1/4 Tsp. Garlic Powder


Set your oven to 375° F. 

 Wash and discard any loose leaves.


Cut the bottom part off that was connected to the stem.


Now cut them in half. 

Don't they look like little baby cabbages?!?!


Spread them out into a baking dish. 

If it looks like a lot of brussel sprouts, I doubled the recipe.


Drizzle with 1 to 2 tsp. of olive oil, 1/2 tsp. pepper and 1/4 tsp. salt and garlic powder. 

Toss with your hands or stir them up to make sure they are all evenly coated.

Now put them in the oven at 375° F for about 20-25 minutes or till soft the way though and a light golden brown.


Yum, Yum...Yum!!! These go great on the side of chicken, steak, fish or in a salad for an extra crunch.
