Happy Monday friends and family!!!
How many of you are off work today? I know in our little town the bank, the post office and schools are closed so that pretty much means the town is closed, haha. :) No really...the square will be dead, except the dollar store, lol!
Well I can't believe how fast Christmas came and went!?!?! This was our first Christmas having 3 kids to share it with and having my parent's here this year made it that much sweeter. I really didn't take too many pictures because I tried to make a conscious effort to experience the holiday through my eyes and not the phone! I also was thinking about traditions and how my Grandma Karen would just sit back, take it all in and smile. We could all take a page from her book of life.
But to be completely honest, Christmas isn't the same without being around our whole family, but we try to make the most of it by keeping with traditions that remind us of when we would all be together!
So for starters on Christmas Eve my Mom made tacos, beans and rice for everyone!!!
Not that this was tradition but being together and laughing was one.
No one wanted to stop eating to take a picture for me, haha!
I guess that meant the food was good...☺
After the guys were finished milking they joined us for games and watching Christmas Vacation!
Sorry Ty...you're a little blurry.
My Mom gave the kids each a present to open and Bryce got the game Sorry!, so Jer, Bryce, Ty and I played.
Bryce loves playing board games!
Dad was watching us play and next thing you know him and Scruffy were sleeping, ha!
Trying to get a family selfie with wiggly kids is impossible!
After this, we went home, put the kids to bed and later that evening Santa came...
Santa brought each of the kids stockings filled with goodies and pillow beds!!!
Oh those presents were taunting them...
Luckily Santa brought the girls some new coloring books and markers to keep busy while Mom made breakfast!
This is a traditional Elrod, Christmas breakfast!
Biscuits & Gravy, Tater-Tots and Pastry.
It was delicious!!!
This is what Bryce wanted for Christmas, everyone laughing-joking and talking around the table!
He said he wanted this more than presents but presents was a very, very close runner up,
At this point I think they were joking about who would be a better helicopter pilot?!?
It was finally time to open presents!!!
The typical Christmas morning aftermath...
My Tia Rocky got Naomi a learning toy from Leap Frog and she was loving it all day!
Maddie was loving the homemade candy cane ice cream I made!
This is another tradition I'm caring on from our family, my Dad use to always buy Candy Cane ice cream when the stores carried it and this year I made some in my Cuisinart ice cream maker, a Christmas present a few years ago!
And that was our Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, Peace Out☮
