First Monday on Winter Break, heeeeyyy, no rushing out the door to get to school!
But now I thinking, what are we going to do for 18 days...Momma should of thought about this in advance...and it's freezing outside....?!? I should of realized this sooner...
Pinterest, help me!?!?
Well this was the coldest I've ever experienced here, real feel at one point was -15 degrees. Ya, I don't care what any thick blooded American says, it was COLD and when you have kids and they want to go play outside, be patience because it takes a while to get them properly clothed, ha! :)
So Friday after school, I kept seeing Bryce walk back and forth from the service truck and back getting little tools etc. and when I asked him what he was doing he said he was ice sculpting!?!
He found a huge chunk of ice in the bottom of a barrel and wanted to create something...
This boy and his mind, always building or creating!
But before he came home from school, I went to his class party...
...his class was doing a candy bar gift exchange!
You know where it can get traded off up to 3 times and on the 3rd time, no one can take it?!
Yah that game, it was fun watching the kids!
But only in the Midwest will you see kids gifting soda in treat boxes, haha, if Bryce brought this to his old school in California I think we would of been kicked out!??!
Then they played a game where the teacher would tell them what to draw, with the paper on their top of their heads...oh you should of seen the kids so crazy when they looked at what they drew.
Saturday I took Maddie with me to pick up my parents from the airport, they were in California for my Grandma's funeral and stopped at the grocery store on the way back in.
Saturday night the kids and I played Zingo, it's a sight word bingo game! We ultimately changed the rules to where you had to have your whole card filled to win, it made the game longer! :)
Sunday we woke to a winter wonderland of snow!🎶
(I got some great pictures on my camera, once I upload I will share)
Bryce shoveled a whole bunch of snow into the wagon and made a snow bed!
That's a beef cow...not a hippo, lol!
Back to cutting wood!
Harley got a little too excited wanting to run on the pond...thankfully it has been so cold the last few days that it was frozen!
Jer quickly called him off and my heart stopped pounding!
He was like, "what's wrong guys...I'm fine!?!?"
Love this part of the property!
While the girls were napping, Bryce made his gingerbread cookies!
I have to tell you...this Betty Crocker cookie mix is so easy and GOOD. All you add is a stick of butter, 1 egg and 1 tbsp. of water, easy and perfect for a boy learning how to bake and wanting to do it all on his own.
Now you all have probably seen these and I know, I'm probably last to the party but OMG these are the best!!!
Pre cut parchment paper for your baking sheets, HELLO, so cool and easy!!!
That's all folks, now I'm going to go shower and ponder what to do with these next 18 days...at least after Christmas they will have all their new stuff to play with and keep busy!?!? Now I just need to get through this week, ha! :)
So far I'm thinking:
Playdoh / Kinetic sand / fake snow (saw on Pinterest)
Indoor bounce house place...suggestions are welcome!
