WHAT I EAT!

Hi all, today I thought it would be fun to share what I typically eat in any given day! I know some of you will be all, yay-yay and some actually may be interested!

Let me just start out by saying that I lead a pretty active lifestyle. I'm on my feet pretty much all day and workout 3-4 times a week. Also over time I have found what works for my body and what makes me feel tired and sluggish...hello Chinese food, ha! I try and eat whole foods as much as possible, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, eggs, grains and majority of the food I consume is from breakfast-mid morning snack-to lunch.

Also I should preface this with, I work from home and live in a little bitty small town with only one fast food restaurant, a few small resturants and no Starbucks, otherwise hello lattes.

So here we go:

In the morning I usually drink 2 cups of coffee with creamer, as I've gotten older my taste for creamer has lessened.

Also I pretty much only drink water!

Breakfast

The most important meal of the day, I usually get into habits of having the same thing all the time.

Lately I've been on an oatmeal kick, sweetened with brown sugar!

But...

if I have avocados, then it's avocado toast with a little pepper and salt for the win!

Other breakfast options maybe:

Scrambled Eggs with Salsa and Toast
Chobani Greek Yogurt (blueberry) and toast.

On the weekends I make more of a traditional breakfast, like sausage & hash browns or an egg bake which is a huge win in our house!

Snacks!

Snacks are super important, they can make or break your day in my opinion. If I don't eat a mid morning snack then I may over eat at lunch or be really hungry for dinner and over eat then I feel all heavy and full for bed.

Her are my favorite snack combos:

A cut up apple, string cheese and pretzel crisps.

Roasted Garlic Hummus with Pretzel Crisps!

Orange, String Cheese and Pretzel Crisps.

Are you seeing a trend!??

Love my pretzel crisps!

Lunch!

Lunch is important for me as well, it gets me to dinner with out having that slump.

On Wednesdays Jarret and I usually go out to eat and get Mexican food while Naomi is at her meeting, it's our little day-date, since the evenings are too hard to get away with milking.

But otherwise, we usually either have leftovers, sandwich, chips & salsa or pretzels-hummus and lunch meat!

On this particular day, I had these little ciabatta squares for sandwiches and they were so good with avocado, pepper jack cheese and turkey!

Lunch I usually do it very simple or I make bake a piece of fish in the oven with some left over veggie and potatoes if I'm trying to be really good or get back on track.

Treats!

Like a little tradition Jarret and I always split a candy bar everyday! We both have sweet-tooths, so it's our way of keeping them satisfied with out going overboard!

Or it might just be 2 cookies, either way I do satisfy my sweet-tooth!

Dinner is what ever I make, I don't stress about trying to be super healthy or low carb etc, but I will say we don't eat out very often and I hardly ever fry anything we eat a lot of Italian style or Mexican style dishes for dinner.

I just make sure my portions are in check!

I nourish my body all day, I don't need to over eat at dinner and we eat dinner early like 4:30-5:00. I know, I know but that is what works for my kids and I, we eat early!

That is what I typically eat in any given day, hope you enjoyed and talk to ya soon,
