March is almost here, and one of the things I think about is the Shamrock Shake from McDonald’s. I remember them being soooo good, but last year when I had one it tasted different! I think they must of changed the recipe! So of-course I set out to make my “own” version of the shake and I think it tastes delicious!
This is one of the traditions that I am starting for St. Patty’s day, shakes! Don’t you love starting traditions with your kiddos or spouse? It’s what they will remember when they get older. Yesterday we were watching a video I took last Valentines day of the kiddos (tears). They were doing a scavenger hunt to find their prize, that’s something we started for vday a couple of years ago with Bryce and now Madison. They were so small, cute and their little voices…awww melted my heart. Ok…ok, lets get back to the meaning of this post!
I hope you enjoy my version of the Shamrock Shake and let me know if you make one!
What you will need:
4 Cups Vanilla Ice Cream
3/4 Cups Milk
1/4 Tsp. Peppermint
1/4 Tsp. Green Food Coloring
Recipe makes 3 medium sized glasses.
Start by putting everything into the blender. Ice cream, milk, peppermint extract and green food coloring.
Turn your blender on and start mixing! Depending on the strength of your blender, you might need to add more milk.
Your end result should look like this gloriously-green, pepperminty milk shake! Yum…
I poured mine into these cute and fun old fashion milk jars; and of-course adorned with a cute straw! I hope you enjoy making these for yourself or your kiddos on our way to St. Patrick’s day.
Send me a picture if you make them or leave a comment below!
