I love smoothies…

Smoothies are a quick and easy way to get your fruits and vegetable in without having to physically eat every single one. I like to make a green smoothie for myself, because you can get all the added benefits from kale or spinach.

My kids love to drink smoothies for breakfast, with a side of toast or half a bagel and cream cheese. 

I know a lot of people are into juicing these days, and I am all for juicing too, but when you juice you don’t get any of the added benefits from the actual fruit itself. For example: when you put your orange in the juicer, you get all the juice, but the strainer strains all the pulp from it. For kale, you are getting the juice, but with blending it in with your smoothie you are actually consuming the whole thing and not just the juice. 

Ok…I think you get the picture?! 

I promise you…you do not taste the kale!

Your Ingredients: 

2 Oranges

1 Bananas

1 Cup Mixed Frozen Peaches and Pinapple

2 Leaves of Kale

1/2-3/4 Cup Apple Juice

1 Tbsp. Honey


First you want to start out by cutting the rind off your oranges. 

Then add it to your blender. You will want to add your ingredients in as we go…

Peel your banana and cut into chunks. Add to blender…

Pull the leaves off of the stem so you just have the leafy parts. You can rough chop your leaves so they aren’t as big for the blender. 

Add to blender…

Pour your one tablespoon of honey over the kale leaves and add the frozen peaches/pineapple on top.

This is what your ingredients should look like in your blender.

Magic…it’s done!

This smoothie makes 1 large, 2 mediums, 3 smalls or 4… i’ll stop now…

This smoothie is a great way to start your day off or to have as an afternoon pick me up!

If you want to make this smoothie more of a complete meal you can add 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, and at that point you might have to add more honey for sweetness.
