This post is titled one year ago today because these photos were taken May 1, 2013, which feels like a lifetime ago. We were at Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego for a follow-up appointment with her Pulmonary Specialist, Dr. Haygood. He has been on this journey with us now for 3 years and I couldn’t ask for a better specialist to have by our side.
Madison now is successfully off all of her medications that pertained to her lungs and that wouldn’t be possible with out the support that we have through her pulmonary specialist and pediatrician. They’ve been amazing with Madison and have been patient with her lungs getting stronger on their own time and not pushing her on or off medication before she was ready. I could go on and on about her pulmonary specialist-Dr. Haygood and her pediatrician- Dr. Griffin all day and how they have shaped our lives beautifully, needless to say they are AMAZING!!!
These photos were taken outside of the doctor’s office and the building where the NICU is located.
What HAS changed in this picture:
Her face doesn’t look so baby and she’s long and lean.
Those pants still fit her little butt, but now they are capris on her.
Her hair is curlier and longer.
She wears glasses now and talks sssoooooo much more!
What HASN’T changed in this picture:
She is still more adventurous then ever…
She is still a smarty-pants…
She still has the strength and determination that all babies have when in the NICU…
The love and caringness that she has for her Brycie is Amazing, you would think she was the big sis looking out for him.
This little girl has shaped all of our lives in a way that you wouldn’t ever expect. She pushes me to my limits physically and emotionally and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am who I am today because of her and she gives me the strength to say that anything is possible.
Madison is one tough-smart little cookie and I can’t wait to see the amazing things she will do in the future.
Have a great Thursday!
