Our Valentine’s Day tradition is a Scavenger Hunt!
Yep, you heard me right, I make the kids hunt for their present. lol!
No…I’m just kidding! (Well kinda not, because they do have to hunt for it…?!)
I feel Valentine’s Day it very much centered around the adults, boxes of chocolate, cards and flowers. I know for me, the last thing my kids need is candy, another stuffed animal or a card for them to throw by the wayside.
Don’t get me wrong I do like to get them a nice card here and there BUT, my favorite things is a Scavenger Hunt. I started doing this for them about 3 years ago and now it is and will be a long standing tradition. My kiddos love it!
The video below is when I filmed them back in 2013 on the hunt. Madison was 2 and Bryce was 6.
In 2013 Bryce was in kindergarten and just starting to read, so I made the questions easy for him to read with a lot of sight words he was learning at the time. Now this year the questions will be more elaborate and geared towards their age groups.
I also always get them gifts they have to share or play with together. Joint gifts!
So the rules are pretty simple…
1. Scavenger hunt geared towards their age level and skill.
2. The gift at the end is for them to share and play with together.
3. Have fun, create lasting memories and either take lots of pictures or record it!
The rules are simple and you can tailor them anyway you’d like for you family.
Let me know if you are going to start doing this, I love to hear!
I can’t wait for ours this year, it is going to be awesome! I went to 3 different stores looking for their joint gift and finally found it at the last one…it’s going to be EPIC!
Definitely stay tuned!
