Happy Tuesday Friends and Family!
You all know who my best friend lately has been right?
Ummm, some people may call her dishwasher and I like to call her my best friend who is always there to help me do dishes, lol. ☺
No really, shes is always there and does good job too, lol!
Okay really, when was the last time you deep cleaned your dishwasher?
Well this is the first time I have ever deep cleaned a dishwasher and it makes a big difference!!!
It honestly isn’t as hard as you think and you really only need a few items.
Optional: Butter Knife or flat head screw driver.
First thing I did was remove the bottom rack and pull the “spinning water head” off.
Then I sprinkled baking soda all over the bottom of the dishwasher and door.
Next, I used my wet scrub brush and made circular motions everywhere I had baking soda.
Here’s where the butter knife came into play.
I used the butter knife to help scrape any soap scrum build up out of the corners and around the bottom seal where the door meets the bottom tray.
Then I used a paper towel to wipe the corner and knife off.
After all that, Jer helped me remove the drain catcher.
I washed the drain catcher in warm soapy water, rinsed and put it back.
Now that you’ve done ALL that.
Place a glass or dishwasher safe bowl in the top rack with 8 oz of white vinegar and also fill the soap reservoir with vinegar.
I also sprinkled more baking soda on the bottom for good measure.
Now if your dishwasher has a “sanitize” setting, select that, otherwise just pick your heaviest wash.
Ta-dah and just like that your dishwasher is sanitized!
Now there is no weird odors coming from the dishwasher, dishes are being cleaned better and you are taking care of your appliances so they last longer.
The Cascade Platinum Tabs are my absolute favorite dishwasher detergent!!!!!
I buy the big box at Sam’s Club because I run the dishwasher almost everyday and you get the best bang for your buck. Now you might be able to get away with another kind of tab and they work great for you too, but I really think it depends on your water as well. Hard water, soft water etc….
I hope this little tutorial helped!?!
Have a Great Day,
