Good Morning and Happy Monday!

The weather here in Missouri was perfect spring like weather and we all LOVED it! Cool in the morning, but sunny and beautiful the rest of the day. The kids played n’ played n’ played and Daddy & Mommy worked n’ worked, ha!

As you all know, on the weekends I usually milk 1 or 2 shifts to let the two high school boys have half the weekend off, well this weekend was prom, so we gave them the whole weekend off. Which meant Momma had to milk both shifts, morning and afternoon. Luckily the morning shift starts early while all their heads are still cozy on their pillows and the afternoon shift Grandma helped keep an eye on them while they all played outside.

This season of life Jarret and I are in right consists of working a lot, putting in the time a business needs and raising good kids! The kids are one of my top-top priorities and we are going to reward them later this week by taking them away for the night and having some much needed family time off the dairy. Jarret and I can’t wait to surprise them!!!

So here’s a little how the weekend went…

4 a.m. I was in the milk barn milking! Jarret went out about 3:30 to go gather all the cows and in that time I drank a cup of coffee, got dressed into my work clothes, threw in a load of laundry and then made my way.

This picture was taken after I went back into the house for a second cup, around 6…?

My favorite part about working in the early morning was to see the sunrise each morning, not from through the window…from outside, ha!

Calves getting their breakfast!

Later after the barn was washed down and the pipe line washed, I made breakfast for the crew and got on with the rest of the day.

Bryce is eating pickled flavored sunflower seeds and just like his Dad, loves them!

Bryce and I were talking while we waited for his little buddy from school to be dropped off, I guess when you are this age they are not called “Play-dates” anymore.

We had a calf born out in the pasture and Jer brought it back on the tractor.

It was a BIG bull calf and Maddie was loving on it!

So was Nomie. ☺

Sunday morning moon.

The leaves just started to come back on the trees.

This is me with Jarret’s headlamp on, remember this was on the men’s Christmas gift guide, well he loves it and uses it everyday!

Sunday morning sunrise.

The girls came out from eating their breakfast and watching Sunday morning cartoons in their pajamas, sandals and morning hair.

That was our weekend in a nutshell, me working and the kids outside in the sunshine playing.

Have an awesome start to your week!
