The last two to three weeks have been BIG decision making times for all of us. As of last Tuesday we are officially not milking cows anymore…we are not in the dairy business.

This was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make.

Over the last month or so, we’ve all been on a roller coaster ride of emotions trying to make the best decision for us collectively and individually. This decision didn’t come lightly, but over the last 6 months, the dairy industry as a whole has just become to volatile for our liking.

Dairying has been apart of my life since I was born. So it is very weird for me and a major closing of a chapter…an era for my family.

I can’t say it enough, this was a really-really-really hard decision for us to make!

I think the hardest part of all was loading our cows up, our cows that we took such good care of and seeing them go.

I know there are chapters waiting to be written and changes that have been happening, but for now…I’m just trying to live in the moment and take it day-by-day.

Speaking of living in the moment…

After the kids got off the bus on Thursday we went straight to taking a ride around the property and appreciating all the Fall colors.

Usually I would be getting the kids off the bus, getting them settled and returning to the barn to finish milking.

On this day we cruised around, it was such a beautifully warm day and Maddie said to me,

“Mom, I love this spot.”

Before the kids got off the bus, Naomi & I baited all these cows up in the catch pen with grain because on Monday they are going to the sale.

Naomi & I made a great team!

This past week at school was Red Ribbon week and on this particular day it was Western day.

Crazy Hair Day!

Both the girls had a whole bunch of little ponytails.

Can I tell you one thing that put a huge smile on my face!?!?

Count down to Christmas started on Friday!!!!

Yay, that means new Christmas movies every weekend until Christmas and all during the week they play reruns from past years.

This was the new movie from Saturday, I’m sure it will be playing on the Hallmark channel all season!

Have a Great Sunday!
