Hey Friends, How was your Christmas! I can’t believe it’s already over? I know for many of us, it feels like we prep and prepare and December just flies right by!
This year we weren’t able to be with family for the holidays due to Jarret working for a new company and not earning enough vacation til this coming year, but next year we are going to make it happen!
As my kids are getting older, it’s important to me to instill family traditions from both sides of our families and new ones that we’ve started since starting our own family.
Traditions to me keep family alive, whether we are near or far!
On Christmas Eve we always make sugar cookie cut-outs for Santa and the girls wanted to write another letter to him, just to make sure he got their last one!🎅
Both girls added that they both wanted cell phones, lol!
Good one girls, nice try…
Making our sugar cookie cut-outs and Jarret was talking to my parents on a video call.
Maddie was really enjoying the sprinkles!
Matching Christmas jammies!🎄
These were the matching family jammies we chose and they are on clearance right now!
One of my family’s traditions growing up was my Aunt Teri would take us to Target with money my parents gave us and we had to shop for each other and then wrap the presents ourselves or with a little assistance.
This year, we did that! Early Sunday morning we took the kids to Target, they each had $20 and had to spend $10 on each of their siblings. All 3 found two items for each other. This was a fun tradition to start with them and the kids really enjoyed it! We let them open their sibling gift exchange presents on Christmas Eve, after dinner, so it didn’t get over-shadowed by all the presents of Christmas morning.
The kids are usually up by 6:30 on Christmas morning and we always start with stockings. We open our stocking and then our stocking from Grandma Londa & Grandpa Jerry (Mehaffey).
The kids started with presents from us…
…then presents that were sent from family!
My family does such a good job of sending the kids presents in the mail, the kids look forward to this so much and it makes them feel special.
Cutest vets I’ve ever seen!
Christmas 2018 was good to us!
Now to start putting all of the Christmas Decor away so we can start the New Year fresh.
