Hi Friends! Did you enjoy your Memorial Day weekend?!? We did a bunch of little things that kept us busy throughout the long weekend. Keep reading and I’ll walk you through it…😊
The last day of school was on Thursday and it was such a good feeling for the kids and me! Yay, it’s summer!
On Friday we took care of some business.
First-order of business was to go to the mall and hit up the new Bath & Body Works. I received a gift card for Mother’s Day from my inlaws and I couldn’t wait to use it!
We also went to a shoe store in the mall for us girls to get summer sandals.
This is the scent I picked, Gingham💙, it’s new! Gingham smells so good and yet not overpowering, which is what I like.
Next was groceries for the week ahead. First Sam’s Club, then Walmart Grocery and thank goodness I order my groceries ahead of time!
Walmart Grocery Pick-up saves me so much time, money and hassle!
What did we do on Saturday…
Oh yeah, we didn’t do much on Saturday besides detail the insides of the vehicles and watch the kids play outside!
Sunday was fun and relaxing.
On Sunday morning we went to church and then came home, relaxed and made pot roast, by Maddie’s request.
Maddie loves a good pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy.
This is pre-cooked before I locked the lid on for pressure cooking.
Later in the afternoon, we went for dessert!
The Mehaffey Family LOVES ice cream!!!
After ice cream, we went for an after-dessert walk and look at what we found…
a groundhog, it was taking a nap in the sun until it heard us.
Along the walking trail there’s river access and if you know my kids then you know they’ll try and go in…
The girls tied their dresses up and started throwing rocks.
Bryce says, “Anything that involves water is a good time!”
I love this sort of thing where the kids are just playing and having fun in nature!
Monday was Memorial Day, we had the best time!
I started the morning with a 3-mile walk and then came home to get cleaned up for…
The girls have been dying to see this and it was so good!
This has to be one of the best remakes from Disney and you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy this movie.
(A few hours later)
It was their last, unofficial, swim lesson. Their last official swim lesson was this past Wednesday, but due to weather, we weren’t able to come to the outdoor pool.
Their swim instructor wanted to make sure the girls could do everything at the outdoor pool and that they knew what to do.
Like go down the little slide and swim back to the side.
Go down the big slide!
Big slide, check!
Jump off the diving board in the 11 feet deep end of the pool and swim back to the side. Check!✔
Maddie was VERY nervous for this one, but she conquered her fear and she did it!
Bryce also did it too, haha, yay Brycee-Boy!
We had the best time on this long Memorial Day weekend, lots of memories were made.
