Well…we’re finally back from our month-long, family-filled summer road trip!!!
We were gone for the whole month of July visiting family in Utah and California. Jarret met us halfway thru and flew into Utah and flew out from California. We had so much fun and lots of family memories made!
Over the next week, I’m going to recap our vacation in a few different posts. I brought my computer along with me to update while on the road but it didn’t quite work out like that. So I’m updating you now.😉 Better late than never right…?!?
Bridal Veil Falls
Jarret flew into Salt Lake City on a Saturday and straight from the airport, we met up at Bridal Veil Falls. My parents were there and my brother plus his girlfriend.
Last year we went to the falls with my sister and her kids too, but Jarret didn’t get to go on that vacation because of work. So this year Bryce wanted to take him to the places we went to last year and experience the same things we did.
This is by the parking lot to the falls.
Bryce had mentioned early on that he wanted to have a picnic with the whole fam and we made it happen.
The girls and I sat on a sheet and enjoyed our picnic lunch on the grass.
Mehaffey family picture, we don’t have many where we’re all together.
The kids at the base of the falls. Also, the water was cold!!!
Mom and Dad!
After we say the falls and the kids played, we walked on the trail another mile or so and turned back.
Grandma with her Mehaffey grandkids!
On our way back to the car and the kids stopped to play on the rocks.
Mom and Uncle Ty (brother). I thought this picture of the two of them came out great!
The next day we went to Yuba Lake and played in the water and roasted some hot dogs.
On our way! This is another place we went to last year that Bryce wanted to take his Dad.
It’s so pretty and peaceful there. The water was way higher this year than last year and a little chilly but it felt good once you got used to it, haha.
The kids can play all day in the water!
Dad roasting the hot dogs.
Sidenote: My Dad loves to barbecue and has multiple barbecues and smokers.
Since our time was short and we weren’t staying all day, we didn’t rent any water toys like last year.
We had the best time at the lake all together and are already talking about our next lake trip.
Anytime we get to spend on vacation as a family is the best!
