Nutritious Fruit Smoothie Recipe with Protein + Flax

Hey Friends, today I thought I would share a quick and nutritious fruit smoothie recipe that I’ve been loving!

Making nutrient-dense smoothies are an easy way to get all the good stuff in with little effort. I usually make a smoothie around 2 p.m., it’s that time where you’re looking for a snack, but you still have a few hours till dinner…it’s perfect for that time but, you can make this anytime it fits in your schedule.

And, what’s even better is it tastes good!

Ingredients for a nutritious smoothie that tastes good.

1 ¾ – 2 Cups Water.
1 Cup Frozen Fruit Mix
½ Banana (Tip: I freeze my bananas in chunks and keep them in the freezer to help my smoothies stay cold.)
1½-2 Cups Spinach (loosely packed) or 2 small handfuls
1 Scoop Protein Powder (current favorite)
1 tbsp. Ground Flax Seed (Similar product)

Direction to make a smoothie.

Start with your blender and add 1¾ Cup of Water. You can add less or more water depending on how you like the consistency of your smoothie.

Add 1 cup of frozen fruit and half of a banana.

At this point, I like to blend the fruit.

Now add 2 loose handfuls of spinach. (Psst, You can’t taste the spinach in the smoothie)

Blend the smoothie really well until you don’t see any spinach leaves.

(Note: My smoothie isn’t green because I added a small handful of blueberries in after the picture.)

Now add 1 scoop of protein powder and 1 tbsp. ground flax.

Now blend until incorporated and enjoy all the benefits of this nutritious fruit smoothie.

Ground flaxseed is an excellent ingredient that you can add to your smoothie.  They have major health benefits and are inexpensive!
