It’s September! | Life Lately

Good Morning and Happy Saturday!

Few, it’s been a minute since I’ve done a Life Lately style blogpost. Life has been a little crazy lately…mostly on my part.

But before I talk about that, can we just take a minute and appreciate that we made it to September! I love Fall, Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.

I love the colors of Fall, the changing of the leaves, the cooler temps and this candle is totally getting me ready for the season.

It from Walmart, as you see, for $3.33! It’s called Warm Fall Leaves and I smells so good!!! In my mind, it’s a dupe for Leaves from Bath & Body Works which is way more money.

On the weekends we usually try to make a run for ice cream from Braum’s, their ice cream is real ice cream. My favorite is a double scoop in a waffle cone, mint chip, and rocky road!

In August we got quite a bit of rain toward the end of the month and some high temperatures which made for some very humid days.

Which we still are pretty warm here but, I’m looking forward to a cool down soon.

At the end of August was Bryce’s birthday, he is officially a teenager now and he wanted to go to Outback Steak house for shrimp and steak.

Then we went to Target and he picked out a new Lego Robot kit. If you didn’t know, he’s obsessed with building robots!

Now that the kids are back in school, I’m getting back to my usual routine of working out/walking outside or going to the gym.

It feels nice to get out first thing in the morning, walk and feel the sunshine.

Over the last two weeks, Jarret was in welding school (follow-up classes) in Kansas City and last Friday he came home before the kids were out of school so we had a nice lunch together, no kids.

Loaded nachos are the best!

Last weekend we went to Hobby Lobby to look for something and while we were there, spent most of our time looking at all the Halloween, Fall and Christmas decoration. It was fun!

Last weekend we also went for a nature walk and not everyone was excited as I was, lol!

I would be lying to say that everyone is excited to go on nature walks, I know they do it because I love it but, I still drag them along and I always will.

Reading the signs along the way.

Piggyback ride on the back of dad’s back! It was only for a few seconds, but look at the smile on Bryce’s face, he loved it…

Which now brings me to why my blogpost have been few and far between…

I went back to college this Fall.

Nerves, excited, anxious, doubts, scared….all the feels…

Going back to school has been on my mind for the last year or two and in the Spring I decided to pull the trigger and sign up. I didn’t tell anyone I signed up (except Jarret) because I just wanted it to sink in and process it before I told anyone.

So starting school a few days after the kids went back to school has made me feel nervous, excited, anxious, doubtful and overwhelmed. I’m not going to lie, it’s a lot…I’m 1 credit away from being considered “full-time” but, my classes are pretty content heavy.

But I’m trying to put one foot in front of the other, take it one day at a time and believing in myself that I can do this.

I know I’m smart, powerful and capable and believing in myself means I am halfway there; even if it takes me longer or that I’m going back in my 30’s.

My intentions are not to let this blog go, I want to still blog, I just have to figure out a new schedule and budget my time differently.

Have a great weekend, I’m off to get ready for Bryce’s football scrimmage and Naomi starts gymnastics today!

Good for you-you are setting a great example for your children. Learning is life long, and you have so much to offer in whatever you choose to do. Bryce looks like Ty in some of these pictures. Love and hugs to all. . . one day, one hour, one minute at a time . . . you got this!
