This week Madison had her NOW yearly pulmonology follow up….yay!!! Majority of the time her Dr. use to come down to their specialty clinic close-by…but now we have to go down to the main campus to see him. And every time I drive down to Rady’s or even pass it on the freeway for some reason, I always feel happy, sad, anxious…it’s a flood of emotions. It’s like when you go back to a school you attended, or a work…
Today I am sharing with you an “ah-ha” moment that I had with myself and Madison. If you’ve ever raised or been around a child with special needs it seems like they’re either really affectionate or not at all. Well Madison is in the not so much category, unless she initiates it herself. And sometimes it was making me sad, she’s getting older and I just want to hug and kiss her as much as possible or hold her hand while…
WOW…I can’t believe it’s been a week since I’ve published a blog post! I haven’t gone that long between posts in a loooooonnnnngg time!!! Nothing spectacular was happening besides life, work, kids, school, and extra curricular activites…and oh, Jer’s dog got PARVO! I did post two vlog style videos in between all of life happening and I’ll link them below. (Vlogging is like blogging but videoing for anyone wondering 🙂 Read on if you want to know too much about…
This week has been the week of meetings for Madison! The school district and with an agency that has followed her since birth, mostly updating paperwork, upcoming assessments and reviews. These appointments are so important to make sure you let your voice be heard if something isn’t going the way you want or if there is something that needs to be changed. You have to stick to your guns and be a strong diligent advocate for your child with special…
Yesterday Madison and I had some great one-on-one time at our local splash pad with my best-friend from high school and her kiddos. What was even more awesome, we had the splash pad and playground to ourselves for quite awhile…it was nice! It made keeping an eye on the kids a lot easier… All of the kids are back in school around here so I am sure that’s what contributed to it not being crowded. Bryce was in school yesterday…
Wow, wow, wow…I made it to day#7 of #Celebratingmotherhood!!! This challenge has been amazing and a huge accomplishment for me, blogging 7 full blog posts in a row!!! It’s not that it’s hard for me to blog, but blogging something true to your heart, getting in the habit of snapping life as it happens to share with everyone the next day and being present to experience it with the kids was a juggling act the first day or so BUT…
Day#6 woooohooo, almost there!!! I love this challenge I’ve given myself, sometimes you need to set short term goals to help you ultimately accomplish you larger goal. My larger goal is to be more present, in-tune, patient and enjoy the “mehaffey-moments” with them. The time with our kiddos goes by so fast and as they get older it seems like it goes by even faster! Yesterday I have to be completely honest…I forgot my bracelets at home! I took them…
