5 THINGS I HAVE LEARNED ABOUT HOMESCHOOLING

I wanted to do a post on 5 things I have learned about homeschooling so far. We are just barely a month in to our first grade and preschool year, but so far it is going great! Last year was our first year homeschooling. If you are new to homeschooling then you know what I mean; there are a lot of uncertainties and wondering if you are doing everything right etc. My advice would be to believe in yourself and…

LOOKING UP

All of us have been sick for the past TWO weeks trying to kick this cold and the last one to get over it was The Hubs. He finally was able to kick this cold this weekend by resting on Sunday and not working. Now this week looks bright for us! I took these pictures on Friday morning as I was riding around the dairy getting ready to start work. My Dad and Brother were still in Utah, so it…

THE CASE OF THE WINDY WIND STORM!

Here we are feeding calves like every afternoon, hotter than heck, BUT now a storm was coming. Bryce and I kept telling each other, “look it is getting closer!” We though it was going to rain; you could smell  it in the air.  We kept watching and watching as we continued to feed calves and pick up the bottles.    We thought it was going to rain for sure, it’ll be so nice! MAJOR SENSORY PLAY DAY AT SCHOOL

This week in school we made oobleck and cloud dough, both recipes are floating around pinterest. My son wasn’t feeling well Wednesday afternoon so I decided to make Thursday our sensory play day. That is one of my goals for this school year is to implement a lot more fun into the mix. Last year was our first year of homeschool, so now we got the hang of things and the “creases are ironed out.” I also have a preschooler…

IT’S A BEAUTIFUL MORNIN…

One thing I learned about myself, while working early in the morning for 4 weeks, is that I prefer a beautiful sunrise than a sunset. This was about 6:30, the first morning that I didn’t have to come in til later, usually I was enjoying the sunrise while I was watering and graining the calves. I have a whole bunch of sunrise pictures on my phone but, THIS was one of the best because you could see the raise coming…

NO REST FOR THE WEARY

For the past three weeks we have been working sooo sooo much getting everyone on their vacation.  The summer heat, being tired and hungry (low blood sugar) can really test a person, mentally and physically. You can find out a lot about yourself when you are pressed to your LIMITS.  One of my favorite quotes kept coming to mind when I was thinking about how much stuff we still had to accomplish in that day, the physical tiredness or how…

WORK, WORK AND MORE WORK…

The last week and a half I have been working soooo much on the dairy! Our guys are taking their vacations and we are all getting it done before we are back to school. Today I am finally getting a FULL day off to catch up on house work, pay bills, mail and letting my body rest.  The last couple of days we have been getting up at 4:00 in the morning and leaving the house by 4:30. For me…
